What a Wonderful Journey.
What started out as an interest for summer fun on the local lake evolved into a ‘near’ obsession of extreme sport, high adventure, and personal achievement. As my skill and confidence in kayaking grew so did my desire to accomplish more; whether it be to paddle faster, travel longer, or seek greater challenges. When all three came together, it made for a grand adventure.
It has been a wonderful journey. I have seen and gone places that I never imagined and hope to never forget.
Without the interest, passion, and support of many others, my paddling 2,695 miles across Minnesota and Wisconsin riverways and inland lakes, and out Great Lakes would not have been possible. Most of all, I am thankful for Michon. She has been a part of my every trip and now my every day. On more than one occasion she has had to come to my rescue. Others through their support and shared passion for adventure, have inspired me to continue to paddle and share my story. They include my daughters Olivia and Elizabeth Stout, and my friends; Dale Swanson, Chris and Shelby Thayer, Dan and Mary Dreher, Greg Raniszewski, Kathryn Lund Johnson, and Sharon Kennedy. I hope my stories and photography inspires adventure in you. |
